Tuesday Bible Study

The Tuesday Bible Study will meet again on January 22th at 1:00 PM in the Adult Forum Room and will continue the tradition of meeting at Pezzo’s in Long Valley to share lunch (“Dutch Treat”) at 12:00 PM before heading over to the church.  All are welcome and we hope you can join us and bring a friend!

 

SUNDAY EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Join us this Sunday at 9:00 AM for the third installment of the special Adult Forum series “Getting God’s Best Out of Worship” taught by the Rev. Dr. Tim Wengert. We will move the session to Faith Hall this week due to the large number of attendees! There are several things that Christian worship cannot do without – find out what they are and why they are so important! The topic for this weekend’s session is: “The Marks of Worship”.

Installation and Celebration

We welcome Pastor Ingrid Wengert’s family and special guests as we celebrate her Installation today. We thank Bishop Tracie Bartholomew for presiding over the Installation of Pastor Ingrid, and Pastor Bruce Davidson for preaching the sermon. Pastor Ingrid will take her place in the history of Zion, becoming the thirtieth Pastor of Zion and only the second woman to lead the congregation. We invite the congregation and guests to join in a celebratory pot-luck luncheon in Faith Hall following the service.

 

Stamping Angels

Please join Zion’s Senior Youth on Saturday, January 26th at 5 PM for our 2021 ELCA Youth Gathering Annual Shareholder Dinner. The menufeatures:Appetizers, Caesar Salad, Roast Beef Carving Station, Baked Potato Bar, Vegetables and Rolls, and a Fabulous Desert! All food is served by Zion’s Youth Gathering Attendees, Free Will donations accepted, suggested donation $25 per person. Reservations will be taken during coffee hours on January 13th and 20th, or by mailing [email protected] or by phone at (908) 672-9747.

No Educational Classes Sunday 12/30

Adult Forum, Sunday school will be in recess until January 6th. Coffee and Christian Conversation (CCC) will be in recess until the end of January in order to give folks an opportunity to take advantage of the special Adult Forum series GETTING GOD’S BEST OUT OF WORSHIP during the month of January.

Comfort My People

Our grief support group, “Comfort My People” meets on the fourth Thursday each month. The Group will not meet in December, but will meet again on January 24th at 10:00 AM. We invite those who have suffered loss of any kind to join us in the Adult Forum Room of Faith Hall. We share our stories and look to insights from Understanding Your Grief by Alan Wolfelt.”
