Faith, Hope & Love: Building Safer & More Welcoming Congregations for LGBTQ Youth

Zion Lutheran Church was represented by Emily Rochotte at the New Jersey Synod sponsored event “Faith, Hope & Love: Building Safer & More Welcoming Congregations for LGBTQ Youth” at St. Paul Lutheran Church in East Windsor on March 17. Attended by congregational leaders of all ages, seminary students, and youth, attendants participated in discussions, workshops and presentations lead by Bishop Traci Bartholomew, members of the New Jersey Synod LGBTQ+ Task Force and leaders of LGBTQ+ organizations. Topics included: LGBTQ+ and Scripture 101, Introduction to Gender Identity and Expression, How to become a Reconciling in Christ Congregation, and others ways to create safe spaces for our LGBTQ community within the church.
