Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Update

Categories: Events,misc,Parish Life,Youth

We appreciate all that participated in packing 62 shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child this past Saturday and again Sunday morning! The children enjoyed filling the boxes with unique items and necessities, and crafting prayer boxes and cards to personalize each gift for a child in need somewhere in the world. (Last year our boxes went to Ecuador!) We are still requesting donations to cover the shipping. Each box costs Samaritan’s Purse $9 to ship, and it would be a blessing to send our boxes fully-funded. Shipping envelopes are located in the Narthex.

We will be working on the remaining boxes Thursday afternoon in the Splash Room from 3:00pm to 5:00pm if anyone wants to join us. You may still pack your own boxes and bring them in to the church by Sunday, November 12th in time for them to be delivered during National Collection Week, November 13th to November 20th. (We do have boxes and extra hygiene wraps available). Note: boxes cannot contain toothpaste or candy this year. Toothpaste we have collected will be donated to LVCAP food pantry). All boxes will be blessed in church during the 9:15 Children’s Sermon this Sunday. For more information, contact Laura Hamilton at [email protected] or in the church office.
