Zion will celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation with one Traditional Service of worship at 9:15 am. There will be no Adult Forum orSunday School this Sunday, and families are encouraged to attend church with their children for this important celebration. During the service Zion’s choir and bell choir will combine to present the premiere performance of a new composition written especially for Zion by our own Christian Humcke. The composer has combined voice, organ, and bells into a joyful and powerful arrangement of Martin Luther’s hymn “A Mighty Fortress”. The congregation will be invited to join in and sing along with the choir. The readings for this Sunday are: Jeremiah 31:31-34, Psalm 46 and John 8:31-36.
Following the 9:15am service on October 29th there will be a “Reformation Luncheon” in Faith Hall. Come and sample sumptuous German food catered by Schwindts, as well as other standard fare. Contact the church office to RSVP so we can get a good head count for the caterer.
